Hey there! I’m Tarnee, the founder of The Virtual Beauty Experts. As a former salon owner myself, I understand the challenges you face.
With over 14 years of experience in the beauty industry, running my own salon and home studio in a Regional town in Victoria, I know firsthand how limited time can be when you’re a business owner. My mission is to support you in achieving a work-life balance and indulging in the things you genuinely love.
My journey began by starting my first business from home, offering waxing and massage services while studying beauty therapy. After graduating, I entered the spa industry, but my entrepreneurial spirit remained strong.
After a year in a day spa, I transitioned to working on a commission basis in a hair and beauty salon. During slow hours, I assisted the salon owner with social media management and administration tasks. During this time, I realised how much I really loved all things social media and marketing, especially for salons.
For 12 years, I worked for different salon owners in diverse settings, honing my skills and gaining invaluable experience.
In 2018, I took a risk and opened my salon in a small town, starting from scratch with zero client base. Through dedication and hard work, I rapidly grew my salon into the go-to destination for all beauty services. However, ongoing lockdowns forced me to establish my home studio. I soon realised the importance of achieving a work-life balance.
Through my journey as a business owner, I’ve learned valuable lessons about what to do and what not to do. Most importantly, I’ve discovered the power of asking for help.
